Working in care, supporting older people is a job like no other. The essence of the role is having the compassion and empathy to care for older people in the same way as you would care for a relative of your own.
The role is a professional and hands-on job and involves you supporting all aspects of the clients care needs.
The job is both challenging and rewarding at the same time. Some clients have substantial care needs, maybe they have mobility issues or suffer from dementia. This makes them highly dependent on the care and support you offer them, so you should be prepared to roll your sleeves up and deliver the care as you have been taught in your training.
At River Garden Care, we pride ourselves on our in-house training programme. We will teach you everything you need to know about working in care and supporting older people in a person-centred way.
We will expect you to work independently only after you have completed your in-house and shadow training and are fully confident in all aspects of performing your duties.
