We Visit: Memory Lane Dementia Facility – Saxon Centre

I was delighted to be invited to the opening of the new Memory Lane dementia facility at the Saxon Centre in Orpington recently, which is managed by Age Concern.

Elissa Fenlon and her team had secured grant funding from Bromley Council to set up this much needed space at the centre.

The Memory Lane room is designed to support up to 8 clients in the later stages of dementia in a small and homely environment. It’s a warm and welcoming space with separate seating and dining areas. Activities are provided to stimulate and interest the clients with good staffing levels to give the clients the extra help and support they need.

The space has been decorated and equipped with great care and attention to detail to ensure that the atmosphere is relaxed and homely for the clients.

If you are considering day care as an option for a family member, Elissa and her staff would be delighted to show you around this fantastic facility.

The prices are: £33.00 for Day Care with lunch available as an optional extra for £6.00 (correct at time of writing).
