Free Advice Event

At River Garden Home Care we are marking the change of season with a free event packed with information and advice for carers and other interested people. We understand the challenges that growing old can have on individuals and their families and have chosen topics that effect people’s everyday lives. The topics will include:

* Dementia
* Lasting Power of Attorney
* Fraud against older people
* Services available in the borough

There will be guest speakers to talk on each of the topics. Further details will be added to the website so watch out for more information.

Additional Staff Training

We pride ourselves on our excellent staff understanding the needs of people in our care whether, it’s providing help for a couple of hours a week or round the clock support. Through our in-house training, we train our staff to provide the best care available and are continuously building and developing our friendly and professional team. We are committed to helping our staff excel and be the best in their profession. With this in mind, we are utilising additional training provided by Orpington College covering topics such as dementia, safeguarding and control of infection to use as an accredited addition to our in-house training. We are pleased to report that some of our staff have already achieved the new Care Certificate and all the others are working towards it.

Our team is committed to supporting older people in the comfort of their own homes and we like to share what our clients have to say about our staff. The names of the clients have been removed from the testimonials to protect their identities, but they were happy to share their experiences.

This is what one client said about us: “It’s carers like K and M that are needed very much and give the profession a good name.”

Another said: “I want to thank you for so caring looking after (my mum) I would not hesitate to recommend to others the high standard and sensitive care that you provided.”

We believe that raising the standards of care is crucial and as such your feedback is very important to us because it helps us improve the quality of our service.

New Clients and Inspections

Currently, we are very busy with new clients, both with Bromley Council and people who privately fund their own care. Another good piece of news is that we recently had a quality monitoring visit from the council and are happy to report that we received very positive feedback.

Last, but not least, we are fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and are waiting for a visit to carry out our first inspection. We are ready and eager for this.
