As we grow older many of us will suffer from some form of mobility difficulty. Sometimes this lack of mobility requires a person to need a bit of extra help to get around and even simple things can start to present a challenge like getting up and down from a chair or bed. Some of these difficulties are part of the process of getting older and can be compounded by illness and associated pain.
At River Garden Care, we understand that a loss of mobility can leave a client feeling very dependent and frustrated at not being able to do the things they want to do. We also understand that having to be supported by hoists or other equipment can be frightening for some people.
With River Garden Care, you can have peace of mind knowing that our care workers who support you are fully trained and competent in carrying out Moving and Handling tasks in a way that is kind and dignified for you and which minimises the feelings of distress that can be experienced. Furthermore, by working closely with you we can help and support you to take your medication correctly so that maximum benefit is achieved.

(PHYSICAL DISABILITY)
Physical disabilities are relatively common among older people. Often it means the individual may need a bit of extra help getting around and managing daily activities. At River Garden Care, we ensure we offer the right type of assistance as our clients need, whether that be reminding our clients to use their walking aid, keeping the environment free from trip and slip hazards or just a helping hand when walking.
For other clients with more intense support needs, we can get more involved in their care such as helping with aids and adaptations such as cutlery and crockery or those for bathing, sitting or lying for example.
All of our specialist care workers receive extensive support and training to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients, including monitoring skin integrity to reduce the risk of pressure sores.
